Pros

Awesome vision! Small close-knit group, open to suggestions from employees, very transparent, great working relationship with clients, a fun place to work with great people. Armature is a software professional services company that is on the way to becoming a product company. Some really bright people work here to develop the future of quality management systems.

Cons

Still working to become a true product company. A great company that isn't well known outside of the accreditation space. Poised for tremendous growth, but a lot of flux right now.

Pros

ARMATURE is a company that took a bespoke software business, found an under-served niche, and capitalized on the opportunity to focus their offerings and became the dominant player in the market. The momentum continues. The perks are great: regular free lunches, a top-floor, totally refurbished office with a gorgeous westerly view of the Blue Ridge mountains, and a diligently-stocked kitchen. I estimate I saved around $11,200 in a single year just by taking advantage of that kitchen. It doesn't factor into my official compensation, but it's basically a five-figure bonus hidden in the woodwork! Anyone can do perks, though: the best companies know it's not about bread and circuses, it's about how you feel. At ARMATURE, the leadership truly cares about the well-being of every employee and is willing to put aside whatever they're working on to help you: whether to solve a technical challenge, transform you into a better communicator, or just to give fashion advice. I've had aloof bosses and tyrannical bosses and micromanaging bosses, but at ARMATURE I had a leader. Seriously: work here. Whatever your job is, you will become better at it. Whoever you are, you will become better for it.

Cons

The company still depends a great deal on revenue from custom services, so most company-wide goals are set around hitting billable targets. This can be frustrating for people who want to help the company and their coworkers succeed but don't do work that's directly billable.
