Pros

I worked on the Inland Rail project. Of the time I was there, the first 18 months was good to great, the last year or so, not so great. The people (fellow colleagues) were generally great. I've noticed this especially since moving on to a new company. Other former-colleagues who have also left have made similar comments. Generally good culture and camaraderie. The work was interesting (for the first 18 months). Being a small company (400 to 500 people), you got a broad overview of what was happening across the company. The IT team (on site Service Desk!) were great. ANY problem you had was fixed practically instantly. The office was nice / brand new at the time staff moved into it. Lots (basically weekly) farewell drinks, due to the mass exodus of employees. I'm grateful for the first 18 months being so enjoyable

Cons

The leadership team and senior management lacked strategic thinking and direction. No career progression. Numerous staff have left and direct report to the CEO said "it's a hot market and a project environment and people are going to come and and go." This is their attitude! No accountability for management (the statement above is an example) High staff turnover, meaning more work gets dumped on people. Poor systems necessitating people to use spreadsheets (which actually work better that the more-expensive systems implemented). Pay has stagnated, essentially market rate. Frequent restructures which do nothing. I wouldn't recommend working there to anyone except for a short term role until something better comes along.

Pros

Clinically u will experience a broad range of diagnosis. In the substance abuse methadone population

Cons

Salaries are low. Numbers matter more than work. Management and the executive team practice management by trying to instil fear.
