Pros

It's a paid job if you need one.

Cons

There is a bullying culture at Active Pathways Preston. My mental health was at it's worst whilst working there. Management are clique and don't act on issues reported. I followed the internal grievance process for bullying- despite multiple written and verbal supporting witness statements from staff- outcome was no evidence found. Huge staff turn over because of unsupportive management! Brookhaven has only x1 full time nurse, x3 nurses have quit. The new Team Leader lasted a couple of months. A nurse started on Brookhaven and quit a month into the job! Hampton's can't keep their support workers, the team I worked on changed x2 over in just over 12 months- 9 support workers at least left. A member of management can be heard gossiping and sharing information about staff to other staff (gossiping)- breaking confidentiality. Management only care about paper work to score the highest CQC rating. Most staff are unmotivated, spend more time socialising and sat around than encouraging service users to engage in support plans (ADLS) or engaging in meaningful activity. They are desperate for staffing so hire people related to staff already working there, so most staff are parent/child or dating. That isn't even an exaggeration. My life changed for the better when I started a new job, my mental health has improved, I feel supported and listened to by my new manager. I didn't realise how unwell I felt until I left.
