Thank you for the feedback. We appreciate you highlighting the company’s outstanding benefits, as well as our sales training. To address some of the comments you made – first, AdKarma is fortunate to be surrounded by some outstanding colleges and universities, and we recruit heavily from this excellent pool of young talent. So for many of our team members, this is their first job out of school. While we hope to retain our talented employees long-term, we realize being in a college town, it is inevitable that we will lose some of our valued team members over time to larger markets. However, now that we are part of a publicly-traded company with offices around the country, it gives us options that we did not have before as far as retaining talent. Over the past couple years, we have had several individuals explore opportunities to stay with the company and work out of a different RhythmOne office (i.e. NYC, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco).
Furthermore, our base salaries are competitive with the market and experience level of the person applying for a position, and there is an annual review process that gives everyone an opportunity to receive a raise. There is also strong potential to make healthy commission as an account executive. With any sales position, what you put into it, is what you will get out of it. That being said, some individuals are better suited for sales than others. We have seen numerous team members over the years make 2x-3x their base salaries after commission is factored in, and we have seen other individuals make six-figure incomes repeatedly over the years. One of our management philosophies surrounding client service that we try to instill in our team members is never to over-promise and under-deliver. We certainly wouldn’t over-promise and tell our own valued AdKarma team members about compensation potential if we didn’t wholeheartedly believe that hitting those numbers was absolutely obtainable.
As far as company culture, I would love to understand your feelings around that a bit more and see where we can improve. Feel free to discuss with me or share any ideas and feedback with your direct manager. Finally, as far as mixing up the day to day to prevent burn out...one of the great things about working at AdKarma is that we give our team members the freedom to structure and plan their own day. Each person knows their work style best to prevent burn out, and we have confidence in our team members to structure their day how they want to, while still helping achieve company and personal goals and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We also regularly plan fun events in the office to help break up the day, and there are monthly team activities outside of the office that help promote team building and provide a break as well. – Best, Ann Wilhelm, SVP Operations
