Pros

One of my colleagues ended up becoming good friends of mine.

Cons

EVERYTHING - for an agency they literally lack all the attributes required for growth and success. They are more aligned culturally with an accountants office than a creative, marketing or sales driven organization. There is little to no career pathing for growth, even less around innovation and creativity on top of that much of the way the organization is run is quite antiquated. They are just entirely outdated - and that stems directly from how leadership thinks and approached leadership and business in general. Mentorship and communication is lacking entirely. Proper vision and leadership requires the ability to adapt and embrace change/knowledge, especially in an industry that is moving so fast. Technology within sales, marketing and advertising is having a large impact on the industry itself, therefore remaining relevant and able to actually produce results for clients requires a fast -paced, innovative and creative approach. They are methodical and process oriented, yes, but that does not make for long term growth. Culturally it's the worst environment I ever worked in. Diversity of thought is not permitted or looked upon fondly. The level of micromanagement and wasted time around that is almost unreal. For example, I literally received an email commenting on extra spaces within an email I sent (to an internal team member!) If you're looking for a steady paycheck and a "job" this may work for you. If you are not and instead someone who wants to build a career in advertising, marketing and/or sales this place will be waste of time, and more so an impediment to you growing and achieving within those industries. If I had not been so diligent about growing my network, engaging outside mentors and taking side projects while working there I think this could have derailed a lot of my career. You are just not going to get the experience and skill set needed for growth from this team or environment.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this way but appreciate your feedback. We agree that building a strong marketing company in such a fast-paced industry requires vision, innovation and creativity. While we are very proud of our thirty-year history of creating results for our clients, many of which have been longtime partners, the team recognizes we can’t rest on our past or current state. A key area of focus during the last year has been people and culture. We understand the important role each person plays in shaping the organization. In recent years, our expanded leadership team has encouraged AdServices employees to share their ideas. We strive to support our team of talented people through collaboration and feedback, including weekly huddles. Even though we’re moving quickly on our clients’ behalf, we are proud of the many opportunities we have taken to stop and bring everyone together to fellowship. Thanks again for your feedback and we wish you the best of luck in your career!

Pros

AdServices is an incredibly rare and special company for whom I had the good fortune of being employed for over 15 years. Had I not left to pursue a lifelong personal dream of opening a business in an unrelated field, I would have gladly spent the rest of my professional career working there. Below are just a few of the many great reasons to work for AdServices. - A highly professional work environment with a comfortable, family atmosphere. - Staff consisting of talented individuals in a variety of disciplines who share common goals and work hard to achieve them. - A highly-developed, intentional corporate culture with a focus on integrity, professional growth, and client success. - A management team that provides exceptional leadership throughout the organization. They go to great lengths to identify employee strengths and provide opportunities to advance in those areas. - Many wonderful clients who provide endless opportunities for creating strong relationships.

Cons

It's difficult to list any cons of working at AdServices, as I had such a wonderful experience during my 15 years of employment there. In general, the advertising/marketing industry isn't for everyone. It's fast-paced and deadline-oriented. Change and innovation are constant. Finding new, inventive ways to compete for consumers' dwindling attention spans can be downright challenging. In terms of advertising/marketing companies, however, you would be hard-pressed to find a better employer than AdServices.
