Pros
People complain of poor pay here, but let's face it.... For someone not having a college degree, and poor professionalism, a pay of $13 an hour is good, being that the only other alternatives a person in that position is to work retail or at a fast food chain for $8 a $9 an hour in the Orlando area... So please stop the whining, you have it easy here! So with that said: Good pay Good hours (the latest shift is 11am to 8pm / the earliest is 8am to 5pm) Weekends off Holidays off Health insurance and 401k package You get an hour lunch break, with two 15 minute breaks in between You are sitting in an air conditioned room with your own workspace You have the opportunity to get up and go to the bathroom whenever you need to Frequent activities for the employees, including potlucks. CVS employee discount Advancement opportunities, including free Pharmacy Technician program for employees. There! Now tell me if Walmart or some other place beats this...
Cons
Hours can feel extremely long, especially for a person who is used to part time shifts. Depending on the department, inbound calls from patients, pharmacies and doctors can get a bit overwhelming. Some managers can tend to micro manage. Since there are many employees there, with different personalities, drama and certain situations can arise if you are not careful with what you say, who you say it to and who you associate with. Sometimes, in some departments favoritism can be very evident. No uniform, so buying clothes to keep up with the Joneses can get a bit costly, if you're into that. Departments can close in the blink of an eye, if they don't renew the contract with ACS. YOu then have to apply for another department to be considered, no such things as transitions or transfers here.
