It can be fun, you will meet a lot of people, and you get free entry.

The management isn’t very good. Casuals are made to find their own covers even if they’re unwell, and if you aren’t able to find a cover then you are spoken to in a condescending manner about how it’s “your responsibility”. I am also often rostered onto days I have booked off months prior and am then scolded when I tell them that I can’t come in. You can be sent home after 1-2 hours due to staffing miscalculations. You are made to complete tasks that shouldn’t be completed by young teenagers and have caused me injuries. The lunch breaks aren’t very generous with me working 12 hours in extreme heat with only a 30 minute break. They have often forgotten to send me on break despite me asking multiple times when my break is. I often got let off my shift late, and when rostered on till close, I was often working at least an hour over my rostered shift, yet when receiving my pay slip, the pay for these extra hours wouldn’t be included. One of the supervisors was extremely rude and condescending and would treat you as her inferior unless you were part of her work friend group. I would often be targeted by her and accused of doing things I didn’t do, and she would often do this in front of multiple people. This definitely impacted my enjoyment during shifts, cause anxiety towards the idea of her embarrassing me once again. Overall this establishment is extremely unprofessional, with outdated awards and policies.
