Pros
Very easy to cross train on 2nd shift. Everyone is willing to give tips and train on different equipment if desired. Fellow employees are helpful and willing to help and answer questions on 2nd shift.
Cons
Dichotomy on first and second shift are pretty extreme. There is a lack of communication between shifts, which causes unnecessary complications. Some people try to hoard information in order to increase their perceived value to the company. Expectation of required work hours and amount of days worked were not communicated from the onset of employment.
