Pros

Endless opportunities to work overtime, whether you want to or not.

Cons

Alderman needs to improve its toxic work environment, starting with management. A lot of the time managers are causing the issues. They could implement some changes to solve the problems, but they’d rather play favorites, and/or not put restrictions on their own toxic behaviors. The majority of our managers are passive-aggressive, micro-managing, and unsupportive. The company as a whole has issues with boundaries, especially in the photography/digital departments. Again, management plays an active role in our issue with sexual harassment/sexism. HR needs to step it up. We’ve had employees leave because HR didn’t want to interfere. Also, we need work-life balance. We’re required to work overtime, during lunch, in the evenings, and on weekends, often times without notice. It doesn’t help that the favs goof off the majority of the time with the managers. Again, managers enable it. This forces the rest of us to pick up the slack, it’s no wonder we have issues with burnout.

Pros

None that I can think of. They occasionally give out shirts with there logo.

Cons

They overwork the good employees, the others get to slack off. If you’re in the managers good graces you can get away with a lot. The majority of the slackers are only there because it’s too difficult to find replacements. No one wants to re-hire, re-train, or put in the effort to make improvements. It’s an old school mentality kind of place, no room for forward thinkers!
