Pros

If I could give this company a 0 star rating I would. There are good employees here who are very knowledgeable and free snacks.

Cons

I'm trying to be as professional as possible here. 1. The management (besides Sales, Business Development, and Product development) is the reason this company is a dumpster fire. They have people who would be in entry or mid level roles but there so many cliques about those in positions who do not lead teams. They are clueless and rely on power hungry people who are on a true power trip. 2. They consistently lowball employees while others make little to nothing. It was hard for myself and others to get by each month. I've known people who have lobbied and pleaded for raises, while they already exceeded the expectations of their roles, and have been lied to or turned away with excuses why they don't deserve or won't get those raises. It's truly angering. 3. The accountability of overall is 0. Alertus blames everyone else and point fingers without even a thought of looking inward and trying to find a common ground moving positively forward. I've seen people be completely disrespected and overworked and even to the point where they have been fired for standing up for themselves. 4. The HR department is a completely removed and are clueless to what employees need. They just assume or talk amongst themselves and half the time the ideas they propose are completely irrelevant. They would rather waste your time then take your ideas and put them into action. 5. Sick and vacation days are rolled into one and it takes about a month to accrue 1 singular day (it's exhausting trust me). You can't roll over all your days accrued and most of the time when you try and take off it isn't approved because they would rather you work yourself to death than take YOUR time off that you have earned. Oh and let's not forget that you aren't paid for ANY OT. (I'm serious) 6. Projects are held up by weeks because of egos and lack of communication. It then is on the employees to pick up the slack of their team leads, which is extremely hard. 7. The products are not anything special and are always breaking. The quality is VERY low. 8. I implore anyone who looks at this company to speak to someone who has previously worked here. You won't get lied to or anything sugarcoated to make it seem like a great place to work. Please do yourself the favor and listen to my advice. There's a reason this company has turnover rate over 50%. 9. You get paid ONCE a month. That should raise a red flag.

To our Potential Applicants: We urge any of our potential applicants who read this post not to be deterred by the purposefully malicious attempt to misinform you. This post was written by a former employee who is clearly unhappy about their termination and does not represent Alertus’s culture or benefits accurately. While we are not perfect, as no company is, many of the points raised in this review are incorrect. We’re ok with negative reviews, they offer us a chance to find areas we can improve on, but we can’t change something that simply isn’t true. Unfortunately, this review does not provide prospective candidates with useful information to help them in their decision-making process. We encourage any of you considering an opportunity at Alertus to reach out and ask us questions or concerns you have around this or other reviews. We are more than happy to have conversations about our company and our benefits before you officially accept a job offer with us. The time, resources, and effort to recruit, onboard/train, and wait for an employee to get entirely up to speed in their role is very expensive. “Tricking” employees into signing a job offer is not something most companies can afford and, therefore, not part of our hiring practice. Before any employee joins our team, we want to make sure that their time here will be positive and long-lasting, so we encourage you to ask questions about whatever is most important to you before coming onboard or before walking away from the recruiting process. To our Previous Employee: We are sorry that you have been released from your role, and we wish you all the best as you move on. We are sorry that you are so disgruntled as to leave this malicious spread of falsified information.
