Pros
I found everyone to be friendly at Alitex and there was a strong work ethic, striving to get things done well and deliver an excellent product to the customer.
Cons
However, I found that the company are very set in their ways, there is a culture of employees giving extra hours for no overtime pay and not using their entire holiday allowance. There is also a huge emphasis on being "right first time" but without adequate training provided - it is expected that the employee put in the extra hours to keep up with more experienced employees. This "sink or swim" approach makes the job harder for everyone, and the reluctance to create robust training materials is unsustainable. I also noticed evidence of old fashioned views within the company relating to gender, sexuality etc. It's a shame that the culture is like this, as at face value it seems to be a nice place to work.
