Pros

I’ve never had more confidence in a team! This is true from the individual contributor level all the way up to the executives.

Cons

We’re still a small company, so we all wear a lot of hats. This doesn’t mean we’re overworked, though!

Pros

They offer unlimited PTO, fair compensation, and remote work... though these don't make up for the fundamental problems.

Cons

The engineering leadership structure creates significant challenges for day-to-day development work, and there's no clear vision of what's actually being built. JIRA tickets are often just titles with empty descriptions and you're expected to attend multiple "refinement" meetings to understand requirements. Even after meetings, ticket details remain sparse and you're expected to remember discussion points rather than having them documented. The lack of clear product direction makes this even more frustrating. The product management approach lacks experience with planning and roadmap creation. Expect to juggle multiple Google Slide Decks, Documents, and Sheets to keep track of project status and priorities, but don't expect a coherent long-term vision. The team culture includes some engineers with oversized egos who can make collaboration difficult and create an unpleasant working environment. It's telling that multiple people I worked with were actively looking for other jobs during my entire tenure there, desperately holding on until they can escape to something better. Don't expect focus on UI or UX. There's no dedicated design resources even though usability is the biggest customer complaint. The platform is essentially a backend API with a fragile frontend full of bugs. Customer success spends significant time addressing usability issues. Management involvement in day-to-day engineering varies widely, with some leaders focused on external activities rather than team coordination. Leadership decisions around project priorities can be inconsistent, contributing to the overall lack of strategic direction. "We're just a startup" is frequently used to justify process gaps, resource constraints, and the absence of clear product vision. If you want to spend time working through legacy code and addressing technical debt without clear direction on what you're building, this might work for you. Otherwise, consider whether the environment aligns with your career goals.
