Pros

(More of a pro-con list) in Cambridge: - The international atmosphere... but you can tell people are not satisfied with their jobs. Otherwise why would they keep quitting? Just because "they miss their families", as management keep telling themselves? - Cambridge is a beautiful place to live, but the housing is crazy expensive, TAKE THIS INTO CONSIDERATION when discussing the SALARY. - Operations does a fair amount of training and you will leave the company mastering memoQ.

Cons

-The management is TERRIBLE, they don't value their employees at all and they openly pay men more than women. I've heard them saying awful things about their employees. If someone stays for years, instead of valuing them, they wonder why someone would stay so long and they want to get rid of them because they don't want to pay SENIOR SALARIES. -Forget about salary raises. (Employee recognition is overrated, uh?) -Their flexibility with conditions, time hours and salaries depend on the person who asks, there's no written protocol for lots of things. -Sales team approach consists of saying yes to the client to everything and someone else will cope with the consequences (preferably a PM). - Stressing out the translators with productivity does not make them more productive. Paying them fairly and timely works better. - They have massive layoffs and afterwards they focus on hiring juniors.

Pros

Project managers are good. They keep in touch all the time, and it's easy to communicate with them.

Cons

They want the best translators and offer them huge projects. Their deadlines are crazy but doable. However, when it comes to paying, it's by far the worst company I've worked for. They say they will pay 60 days after they receive the invoice, which is already an extremely long period of time. This is the second and last time I translate for them. The first time, it took them 9 months to pay me! This time, way worse. It's going to be a year next week, and they don't even answer my messages anymore.
