Pros
You are exposed to some interesting personalities (celebrities, world leaders, authors, thought-leaders, etc). The work/life balance is pretty good. You really only put in the extra hours if you want to (unless you are an event coordinator, where the job requires you to be on-call almost 24/7).
Cons
If you like organization and structure, this company is not for you. Management has no business sense or leadership skills to run a business. Instead of focusing on growing the business, building relationships with clients and recruiting speakers, they waste their time focused on minor issues, nonviable speakers, or scheming ideas that will never materialize. In addition, management’s lack of trust in their employees is felt throughout the company. When big issues arise, management will rarely get involved or pushes the blame on someone else.
There are no official job descriptions, which constantly causes issues of who is responsible for certain tasks. There is no teamwork among the different departments. Certain employees constantly complain about every single little thing, which takes up management's time and makes it difficult to want to help anyone.
Overall, there is no incentive to stay with this company long-term.
