Very basic one time training. No SOPs to refer to. Learn on the job. Assigned to one specific job/section (ie tills, fitting room, stockroom, refill and maintenance) which limits building experience in various aspects of retail. Rigid rostering. No flexibility. Store is closed one day of the year (25 December only). One weeks notice if dissmissed within the first two years. Consistenty monitored. Store Manager sets precedent with a management style of command and control (condescending and dismissive) rather than offering support, enabling unified resolution, and expressing gratitude. Diversity and equality exists within strict capability limits.
