Pros

- The company has a lot of growth potential with the various ecology roles you can progress through. - You work alongside highly skilled and knowledgable people in all areas of the company. - The tech team are phenomenal at their work and are constantly working on new problems and projects making it both fast-paced and engaging. - The company is at the front-line of new survey methods, practices, and software. - New ideas are always accepted and will quickly be acted on where they're positive making it a dynamic workplace.

Cons

- It can often be a high pressure environment where getting behind on work can snowball. There are systems in place to assist people in a backlog but it can lead to stress. I'm expecting this will change in the coming year as new systems are put in place for assigning work, monitoring work, and training. - If you're working for the internship or completing bat surveys you are likely to have unsociable working hours - Some daytime and evening surveys can be far away (up to 2 hours but average for me ranged from 0.5-1.25 hours)

Pros

You (have to) learn a lot very very quickly. The pay is very good compare dot my last job and the one I am in now. The overtime rates are so high it is quite hard to leave arbtech, because you have to take a big backward step in pay (it is not that difficult to double your wages in overtime). Tons of friendly people. Socials can be fun. Perks and 40 days holiday is miles better than other places. Compared to my previous jobs and current one, I highly rate it as an experience and miss it a lot sometimes. I definitely miss the money.

Cons

Don't apply unless you know you can consistently work very hard all year round. The company does not have 'quiet periods' like some ecology consultancies do. No other way to say it..summer is mental. Management can be incredibly supportive sometimes but they seem to have a very black and white approach to resolving issues and sometimes that doesn't come across well from an employee standpoint. The boss is actually nice in real life but it took me two years to find that out. Some of the ecologists exist in cliques and those can be hard to break into.
