Pros
Everyone is very proud of the Ashurst culture of sparking minds and it's true that there are some very bright and inspriring people there. Work life balance is definitely better than at magic circle firms.
Cons
It's been a bit of a mess there lately - lots of people are leaving, the work hasn't really picked up yet after the recession, and senior management has very poor leadership and communication skills. The partners have a little bit of a mentality of "it's them not us" and no one wants to take responsibility for anything.
