Pros

At first, it was a pleasure to work with Asymbo. Their product has a clear market value, their path to marketing success was obvious given the right strategy and tactics, the CEO was engaging and incredibly positive about all the work delivered. A schedule was set up promising projects well into the future. The first invoice for a small amount was paid on time and in full. There was a lot of low hanging fruit and a clear opportunity to make a measurable difference in terms of leads and conversions for not a lot of budget.

Cons

I am one of many local external suppliers that struggled to extract payment from Asymbo in 2017. In my specific case the CEO, Karel Lycka, refused to pay for work that was delivered on time, exactly according to the brief, and that he had highly praised. Several weeks after the invoices for the bulk of the work were received, the excuses started, which ranged from downright insulting to the absurd. In one memorable exchange, he helpfully calculated my freelance earnings based on my hourly rate and informed me that I should forgo payment because, in his view, I already earned enough and I could afford it. He then tried to question the quality of my work which, being a top-rated freelancer on Upwork, and for the world's largest brands and advertising agencies is utter nonsense. He avoided and delayed settling invoices for work which he used on his website and in his sales materials. Then didn’t pay for work which he had requested, praised, and later decided not to use. Following legal advice, unfortunately, the time and cost involved in suing the company made it inadvisable to pursue this case through the Czech courts for the amount owed. Work with Asymbo at your own risk. As mentioned, I was not the only external contractor that had payment issues and at one point we were considering a joint legal claim.
