Horrible experience even for a short stint - Senior Consultant Athena Infonomics Employee Review

Pros

Athena Infonomics used to be a good firm. You will get to work on multiple projects and it enhances the portfolio quickly.

Cons

Department heads are toxic and the HR team is exploitative. If you are working closely with the department head, you will realise they spend more time politicising about hiring and firing quickly and less time on carrying out their work. The company has some serious problems with managing their management. In my honest suggestions, do not choose to work here unless you don't have any other option.

Pros

Small company with lots of experience. I was staffed on several projects under senior level people and provided with enough support that I felt comfortable working in a relatively new sector. I learned a ton about the water and sanitation (something I had no experience with) and was tasked with the prerequisite of understanding the structure of development work.

Cons

The work is reactive more than proactive, as with the majority of development work, so one might be tasked on projects, moved often, or placed outside of comfort zone.

Pros

I have been with Athena Infonomics for a little over 2 years now. The organization clearly is on a rapid growth trajectory and this has created some really interesting learning opportunities for me. It has a great peer group of professionals who are passionate about social impact and are willing to help each other out.

Cons

The work-life balance is a serious issue. While you learn a lot, the organization needs to find a way to smoothen out work allocation and improve work-life balance.
