Pros

I've been with the agency a long time now and I've seen it in its many guises. The founders have been as creative with the business model as they have with the work itself over the years - always pivoting and tweaking to improve. I see Atomic as a meritocracy - if you bring energy and ideas to the table and do good work, you'll be supported and rewarded. Having started as a junior designer, my career has evolved over the years to the point where I'm afforded a level of autonomy and ownership over my role that is truly liberating. The main reason I've stayed so long — I've been kept engaged by doing interesting and varied creative work for amazing clients, with great people, and having (mostly) fun doing it!

Cons

With that sense of constant evolution comes some of the teething pains that you would associate with organisational change. Sometimes the workload can be a bit intense but it comes in peaks and troughs and tbh the work life balance here is radically different from those early days - in a good way! And sometimes, when we're so focused on innovation and the future of the company, we can take our eye off the ball a bit when it comes to our internal comms, making things a little woolly. But half the battle is knowing what our issues are and working to improve them. Overall I think Atomic is a great place to do great work, learn loads and craft a career in the process.

Pros

Having the chance to work with top-tier global brands is definitely a highlight for me. Some of our projects have been award winning which was great to be a part of. Creativity is obviously really valued and everyone is encouraged to think outside the box and collaborate on ideas. I find this really motivating especially when clients give positive feedback on projects I've worked on. A lot of the work we do is global which for such a small business is great to get that exposure. The team is brilliant, a great group of people. There's a real sense of support and everyone is sound. We are encouraged to learn new skills and there is a budget to support it. Lots of on the job learning too with lunch n learns and there is a focus on coaching from leadership as well. The workplace culture is warm and welcoming and plenty of opportunities to get to know each other. There is a culture committee that arranges quarterly events off-site and we often have breakfast or lunch in the office when everyone is in. There is really good flexibility around coming to the office/ working from home. One day in the week when everyone comes in and then one other day that is flexible with your team so you can make it work around your life.

Cons

At times we’re very busy with a bit of pressure when key client deadlines come around. We win a lot of business but should shout about and celebrate this more with the team.
