Pros

As a workplace, people are talented and do work hard together, for the most part, to accomplish daily projects. It is a supportive environment on the day to day level. Communication and project workflow/process is improving.

Cons

The office temperature is set and locked at 78-80 degrees. Meaning there is an actual key lock on the thermostat. That should be your first sign this is not your usual place of business. Upper management is highly involved in the day to operations. To the point where they do not understand the concept of trust. The level micromanagement in this office is the worst I have ever witnessed. Upper management has an unclear vision regarding roles and responsibilities. There is a flat organizational structure across all lower levels of employees. Meaning, everyone overlaps in decision making because everyone knows upper management will have final say. This leads to constricting of ideation. Everyone is afraid to voice their opinions and when they offer strategic examples, upper management just ignores them and in many cases belittles people. This is a clear sign upper management has insecurity issues. The lying and clear conflict of interest in upper management means HR issues will never be dealt with properly within California Law. So now that the operational issues have been highlighted, the company benefits are laughable compared to any other professional opportunity. 3 sick days annually and no personal days is not a reason to consider accepting a position here. And if you do call in sick, upper management immediately second guesses it. Yes, it is honestly that kind of environment. Career advancement is also not supported. Upper management does not believe in a traditional organizational structure, because it will lessen their influence on daily operations.

Audacity Response

The management of Audacity changed in February 2016 and since that time all of the issues outlined in this post have been addressed. Audacity has a culture of respect at all levels, hard work, and a lot of fun as evidenced by our weekly lunches, monthly 'chill time' at destinations selected by members of the team, and 'spontaneous acts of kindness" such as popcorn, pizza, cookies, or home baked cakes for the team.

Pros

This is a diverse and highly talented group of people that are dedicated to giving their clients their best every day. Agency life can be stressful, but when you have a supportive crew, like this one, you can work through each problem and know that you have a super solid team to back you up. The benefits and family vibe of this crew were two real standouts for me and my time with Audacity. Working with companies that are changing the health sciences industry and helping them to succeed was also a big moral benefit. Knowing that your efforts are being put toward the betterment of humanity.

Cons

Nothing to really point out. The normal and expected growing pains of any thriving agency. This is an agency that doesn't mirror your average agency, it strives to be something better, and the management team clearly makes efforts to improve operations and the day-to-day on a regular basis.

Pros

Dynamic work, flexible schedule, friendly & kind coworkers, and overall positive work environment

Cons

Hours can be intense. Environment is overall nice. Bonuses are prioritized to tenured employees and those with close relationships with upper management and tied to company performance, not so much your own.
