Pros

The Chronicle is an Austin institution. People are nice and like to hang out with each other. Animal-friendly workplace. Pace can be slow, with lots of downtime, which can be a pro if you don't like to work too hard. You can work at fun events in town representing the company, which is pretty cool.

Cons

This is a weekly newspaper, so you don't have the sort of high energy or productivity that you get when working at a daily or online-based news outlet. The pay is low, too, too low given what it costs to live in Austin.
