Pros
Honestly, the best reasons to work at ACS are the team of people we have and the families we serve. We are a small clinic. We prioritize learning and service and are really focused on building up strong clinicians who can serve any child that comes through the door. We also NEVER turn a family away. Whether it's for behavior or complexity, or struggles with attendance. We work really hard to get the buy-in of the whole care team and do our best to meet the needs of the child, and their family. We also really like to have fun together, and we are always trying out new ways to do this. We've done ax throwing, and office family feud. Even our weekly staff meetings are fun. Our small team has a range of clinicians, from students to clinicians who have been treating for decades. There is always something to learn and we really want to support each other so we can serve the families in the best way possible. Working here is an adventure. This is a place where you will make a difference in a big way. If that sounds like something you want to do then you should probably work here too :)
Cons
ACS is a clinic that specializes in ADHD and Autism. The CON is that noone teaches us about social thinking and executive functioning in grad school and we have to get all that training on our own. But don't worry, we've created a training program that we provide so that you will feel super equipped to help these kids and their families. Take that GRAD SCHOOL!
