Pros

Remote work. Flexible time off. Though that is now being scrutinized.

Cons

Way too many layoffs for the age of the company and size. Can’t trust senior leadership. They wordsmith around “no large layoffs” but then begin to do small targeted layoffs as to not spook the rest of the org. We all see what’s going on. Senior leadership takes offsites every other month, yet we have no money for anything else; even team offsites. Haven’t seen the team in person in years. Seems like they are just using up the funds before this place goes under. Revolving door up top with no clear priorities. 3 CEO changes in 4 years. Major projects are pushed and engineers work long hours only for it to be cancelled. This is an incredibly common theme. Product also builds things no one asks for instead of fixing core stability and security features. The org is losing talent fast as everyone is jumping from a burning ship. Half truths and lies all the way down. Competitors are doing 10x per year compared to Automox. Product has never had a clear direction. Just way too many things to even list here….

Pros

Remote employment. Nice employees. A job with ample ramp-up time. Decent work benefits, prefer greater income above perks. Lots of PTO.

Cons

Everyone is drinking the kool-aid for too long.. Bonuses tied to company success not your success and efforts. Shareholder capitalism ruining org. Too many expectations, too broad roles. Multiple layoffs, excessive for such a small company without backfilling. High stress. Slow to innovate, inconsistent with leadership changes. Middle-management heavy with unclear goals. Inconsistent direction stringing on employees to work harder. Poor raises not keeping up with duties or inflation. Directors are disconnected. Many top performers are gone or leaving. C-suite does not advocate well for employee needs. Pushing AI strategy to clients when its unwanted. Another corporate shill.
