Pros

As a long-time employee, I can say that this was once a great place to work. During those years, I had the opportunity to build strong, lasting relationships with my coworkers, which made my experience even more rewarding. I stayed as long as I could - I really wanted the old experience that I remembered.

Cons

Sadly, the company has undergone a complete transformation since being acquired by a private equity firm. On the surface, the 'Best Place to Work' awards and small company feel may seem appealing, but the reality is quite different. The CEO is largely absent, doing little beyond following the directives of the private equity funders and focusing solely on cost reduction. Leadership overall is lacking, and there are serious concerns among employees about favoritism and protectionism, especially within the advisory division. On the Workday side, with recent layoffs of nearly 2,000 employees at Workday, it's hard to feel confident about Avaap’s future as a solution implementer. Avaap has put all its focus on Workday, but that may backfire as the situation worsens. I’m uncertain about what the end game is, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see Avaap eventually eliminate its advisory division and sell off the Workday side. Leaving was the best thing that ever happened to me professionally. I no longer have to work 60 hours a week, 20 of which were unpaid. The compensation structure is unethical, as they only pay for billable work. At other consulting firms, you receive a set salary, whether the work is billable or not.

Avaap Response

We take feedback very seriously, so thank you for your sharing. We also take facts seriously and must first address the inaccuracy describing Avaap's compensation. All employees receive a salary. Billable resources (Consulting resources) are eligible for a quarterly bonus based on utilization targets. This is a model that is very common in the consulting industry. Avaap has indeed evolved in recent years, and we remain committed to fostering a positive and dynamic workplace for our team. Our leadership team is actively engaged in guiding the company’s growth, and we continue to prioritize both our employees and our clients. While the Workday ecosystem has seen shifts, we are confident in our strategic direction and the value we bring to our customers. We wish you the best in your future endeavors and appreciate your contributions to Avaap during your time here.
