Limited positives compared to the overall experience

The culture is highly hierarchical, with titles used to inflate egos rather than foster collaboration or competence. Management is toxic, and HR provides little to no support, which reinforces a self-serving environment. There is a clear lack of long-term vision or coherent business strategy, raising concerns about the company’s sustainability. Employee benefits are minimal, and there is no meaningful investment in training, development, or well-being. Career progression is unclear, and employees can spend years here without recognition or even basic appreciation. The workplace culture lacks professionalism at a basic level simple courtesies are often absent. Leadership behavior is inconsistent, with partners displaying a noticeable difference in attitude depending on whom they interact with. It is also worth noting a pattern of reputation management: negative feedback appears to be removed and replaced with overly positive reviews, which raises questions about transparency and integrity. Overall, this is not an environment that supports growth, trust, or long-term career development.

There are a myriad of growth opportunities and we are given a high degree of latitude in how we choose to progress our careers. Business development opportunities and decision-making is more decentralised than at peers - we are a more nimble firm and are able to move forward without the bureaucracy and overheads of many peers.

Consultancy as a business can be more chaotic and less structured than other careers - we have to respond to client demands and opportunities as they occur. The demands of the business do mean additional hours when compared to other careers and evening & weekend work is not uncommon. The flip-side of the freedom to develop business and develop personally is that some of this will need to be performed outside of office hours. Travel is also not uncommon and you may be away from home (during the week only) for certain projects. Peaks in client demand can be challenging - Financial Services consulting is both demanding and cyclical.
