Great experience and access to senior team members and management teams. Lots of deal activity.

Long hours and on the job training but probably typical for other small PE firms.

Following my time as an investment banker, Avista Capital Partners ("ACP") provided a solid platform to learn and develop the skills necessary to be a successful principal investor. At Avista, I was surrounded by intelligent, hard-working and passionate people who enjoyed their work from both an intellectual and professional standpoint.

As ACP is a relatively young company, there exist identify issues with the culture which ultimately impact teamwork and camaraderie within the firm. This is not to say that the people, individually, are not great people - only that the diversity of disparate personalities does, in certain instances, impact one's enjoyment of work.
