Pros

- Generally very flexible around work / life balance. - Most of the people on the ground doing the day to day work are genuinely nice and fun to work with.

Cons

- Technical decisions made without proper consideration and talking with the people who actually do the work. - Ruthlessly making people with over 10 years of service redundant to employ "a better calibre of people" (actual ceo quote). When the people being made redundant have the skillset but have been actively prevented from employing it by management. - Asked people who were not furloughed in COVID19 to take pay cuts "for the survival of the business" but now in record selling months after lockdown "Will not consider making those people whole". - No proper design processes or SEO team, as a dev you are expected to just pick that up. It means endless rework and finger pointing. - Incredibly convoluted legacy systems and complicated business rules. - Reliance on 3rd party consultants and agencies means lots of technical debt and poorly written code.

Pros

Some delivery staff are pretty good. Zero meaningful governance. Platform and SecOps are a joke, do whatever you want. PII is freely available...

Cons

The company is owned by private equity who poured megabucks in and now want their money back, The main problem being tech management are staggeringly incompetent and the platform is still awful £10m+ later, they've squandered all the free money on contractor CV driven development and have nothing to show for it, and are now sacking people at random out of desperation. No meaningful product direction - I've worked with someone on 6 figures who contributed nothing bar asking chatGPT to get 2 tickets wrong... And that's all they contributed in 12 months... SecOps and Platform are non-entities vs reputable companies. Garbage antique platform. Owners hate the company Customers hate the company Inventory is garbage vs the competition, most of it looks like a 90s found footage slasher set and the one i did stay in gave me bedbugs.
