Pros

- 100% remote work. - The product, in general, is cool and uncommon. - Nice coworkers and a generally pleasant work environment. - Good projects and challenges overall. - Decent codebase (this will vary, but it has improved over time). - The main perk: access to the company’s fleet vehicles at a reduced cost.

Cons

- Toxic and fake environment, especially with Brazilian managers/PMs/CTO. Expect to "fight" with them when discussing issues or expectations. Not the ideal place if you want real engineering; Brazilian managers will expect you to ship features in the fastest way possible (forget unit tests or whatsoever). You can do them, but it’s on your own. - Poor methodology for managing software projects, with some micromanagement: daily meetings with the team, daily meetings with PMs/CTO, weekly status updates, etc. - Some PMs are just "full-stack cops." Others are just cops, but not "full-stack." In either case, they don’t really understand the product or know how to manage expectations with C-level executives. They also don’t know how to use project management tools effectively, handling requirements, user stories, etc. So, expect to have scope changes, especially if a project is nearing completion. - Unrealistic expectations. For example, tasks labeled as urgent that aren’t actually urgent. Expect PMs or the CTO to bother you outside normal work hours or even on weekends. - Too much time is wasted on pointless activities, such as mandatory courses or similar tasks (non-IT-related). This primarily affects employees hired directly in Chile (with Kaufmann). - You must pay 2% of your salary if you want complementary medical insurance and other associated benefits. - Fixed salary. Bonuses tied to performance or additional work are rare. - Salary increases are infrequent, even with good evaluations. However, there are semi-annual adjustments for inflation (not ideal, but better than some other companies). - The provided equipment (laptop) is subpar and far from decent. - Feedback is rare, and in the past, it was tied to a platform used by the parent company (Kaufmann), which does not provide a proper evaluation.
