Pros
None - Stay away from this business if you to wish to prosper in sales and earn commission.
Cons
There are so many cons and downsides to working for British Engineering Services During my time at business there was s commission gate of 16.6k per month that sales professionals had to invoice to get the right to get commission. Meaning if you won a tender in 2024 and the value was 20k you would only get paid 1% on 4400.00 which would be £44.00. The gate catches up every month so if you don’t hit the gate next month it’s double. So in total in BES take circa £166.00pm off business development managers for no reason which is nearly 2k a year. There is no way to track commission either. Operations - absolute shambles across all areas of the business don’t have ant initiative and expect to be spoon fed in order to do the job. They are extremely under resourced with lead times up to 12 weeks with engineers quitting every month due to poor operations and management. People in operations team don’t want to help and the business doesn’t care about the customer, they only care about making money and ripping customers off. Decreased the number of event and exhibitions BDMs are allowed to go to due to the cost for them. Spent five times over the budget to get a new website to created leads through SEO, however this has drastically failed with the low number of leads coming in. The british engineering services seminar is managed and operated so poorly. This is due to booking any business/stakeholder on for the lead generation team to hit their numbers for bonus. However this leads the business running events with only 30 people turning up with no real return on investment for the business as they are booking anyone on to hit their numbers and not thinking about the conversion rate. HR only sent me my acceptance of resignation for my 3 months notice ONLY after I left the company when i was asking for a reduction and was ignored until i found another job. There are so many more cons to BES, my advice avoid them at all costs if you don’t want to be miserable.
