Pros

The compensation package is pretty great. The Supplier Growth team has a floor commission policy that guarantees commission payouts without having to close any deals.

Cons

- The "product" is terrible. They charge 6 figures to basically generate a daily excel spreadsheet that's not customizable and can pretty much only be delivered to the customer via email. It's the worst SaaS product I've ever seen - The GTM strategy is focused on how to cause more pain for the prospects to force them into a purchase rather than actually trying to offer a valuable solution that solves problems - The "solution" that is sold addresses a problem that BILL itself created - There is 0 training whatsoever, you're given a mentor and are supposed to just reach out to them every time you need help with something, which is extremely frequent because there are a million ad-hoc tasks thrown at you that don't help you progress deals in any way - There is never a Close Lost deal. If you get a no, the expectation is to "find a new path" and continuously reach out to other employees at the company

Pros

The people I work with in our department are awesome. My manager great leader.

Cons

During my time at BILL, I experienced three separate rounds of layoffs, with each one becoming more significant than the last. The most recent resulted in approximately 30% of the workforce being laid off, while some departments were eliminated or their work was shifted overseas, including to the Philippines. From an employee's perspective, there was a constant feeling of uncertainty. It often felt like your job could disappear with little or no warning, making it difficult to feel secure or plan for the future. Leadership frequently talked about company values and culture, but those messages became harder to believe as repeated layoffs occurred. The company's focus appeared to be on improving financial metrics and satisfying shareholders, especially as the stock price declined over the past few years. There was also an increasing emphasis on AI and operating with fewer employees, which created the impression that reducing headcount had become part of the long-term strategy. BILL has talented people, good products, and there are opportunities to learn, but anyone considering employment should understand that job stability may be a concern. Be prepared for the possibility that organizational changes can happen quickly and without much notice.
