Pros
BacklotCars has a great leadership team who have a deep understanding of the automotive industry, which is important. They're motivated to disrupt and change the auto industry for the better and this mentality has spread across the associate population. I've only worked for one other company whose employees are as committed and dedicated as those at BLC. BacklotCars is committed to growth and has invested in their people! Headcount over doubled in 2019 and we went through a national expansion to have representation across the entire US. The culture is everything you'd want or expect from a Tech Startup and continuing to evolve! It's very welcoming and filled with genuine people that are quick to recognize others for positive efforts. It's a very collaborative environment where all suggestions are welcome (Slack, Brainstorming channel). It's also a very transparent environment (Slack, Ask Me Anything channel). Great office located in downtown KC!
Cons
Like most startups experiencing rapid and excessive growth, there can be a lack of process or structure from time to time. Things move fast and can change quickly. That said, leadership encourages associates to take charge, create and build! Also, like most growing tech startups, it's not a clock in at 8 and out at 5 type of company. It's not uncommon for employees to do work in the evenings or weekends. In most cases...I believe, that it's the commitment and dedication that employees are willing to put in the extra work.
