Go be a real RBT... - Behavioral "Educator" Basic Beginnings Employee Review

Pros

Work with students of all socioeconomic levels. The building is in a good location in kirkland/easy access to buses for teens groups

Cons

No one I met in this company was college educated in education (not even the owners). There is NO BCBA on staff. High behavior students, no support, and unexperienced senior staff only compounded the issue. Often times this lack of supervision led to dishonesty, low quality work, neglect of students and physical/verbal abuse. Many of the staff I worked alongside were newly sober (AA and NA) or still active in their use of illegal substances. I also found it tacky how wasted the owner would get on outings and events. Staff would negatively talk about Tabatha and her behavior at the EEU auction/other management events. Also there was a $500 fee added to employee contracts to try and reduce turn over. They should let their untrained and underpaid staff leave during the school year as WA is an at will state. Dont be an indentured slave, if you want to help kids apply to a real agency that will take the time to get you certified as an RBT and train you.

Pros

food on the job, building family relations, children interaction, playground access, great co-workers, positive attitude, spending great time with children.

Cons

loopholes to contracts of certifications, horrible management after a while, overworked you have to do a lot outside your normal pay, overtime is shunned, favoritism is a thing here, narcissistic director, little to no covid precautions, micro managing, consistently pressured to do trainings that fund their programs, thrown into everything without adequate training, will be used a floater when needed even if you are uncomfortable with that after a bit, your voice isn't heard very well at this establishment
