Pros

This organization is BCBA owned and has much higher standards for quality of services then you will find in private equity corporations. I was never asked to do anything unethical or that would violate a contract with an insurance company. Most of the people that work here genuinely care about the clients they serve, and overall the staff morale is mostly positive. The pay is fair, but much lower than other agencies in the area. There are no paid holidays and at max you have 5 days of PTO. They are very fair about taking non-paid time off. They only close 3 days per year, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas day. The health insurance offered has extremely copays and very high deductibles. Pay is hourly and your PTO is based on your average hours worked per day over the last 3 months.

Cons

The hours are given out by seniority, so if a BCBA who already has 25 billable hours week who has been with the company for 2 years wants additional hours, they get first priority of cases coming in. Meanwhile a BCBA with only 4 billable hours a week would have to continue waiting indefinitely for more cases to come in. I was hired to be a full-time employee, but I struggled with getting enough hours. It was only after working for the company for a year that I was actually getting full-time hours. At one point, for several months, I only had 8 billable hours per week, 4 of which were in Yulee ( 2 hour sessions 2 days a week) and the additional 4 hours were in the Argyle area of Jacksonville (two locations that are 37 miles apart). I was told if I wanted more hours I could ask the other BCBA's if they had any program mod hours they wouldn't be using the rest of the week. This was really challenging because I had to wait for the other BCBAs to make their schedules to let me know if they had any leftover hours I could use. There was also no guarantee week to week if there would be any extra hours available I could use. I did not have an iPhone when I started working here and was repeatedly asked to purchase an iPhone. When I said I could not afford an iPhone the company provided me with an iPhone 7 that I had to use as a "business line". I was the only BCBA who had to have a "business line" in addition to being the only BCBA without a full case load who had to ask their colleagues to help them get billable hours.
