Pros
This is one of those jobs that if you like it, then you love it. Seeing progress of these students is extremely rewarding! As a kid I knew I wanted to help people when I grew up. But I soon realized I didn't have the stomach to be in a position like a nurse, so I quickly gave up on the possibility of having a job where I would be able to really make a difference. So a decade later I bounced from one college major to the next because I couldn't find one I cared or got excited about. Then I stumbled upon my first job as an ABA therapist and realized right away it was for me.
And on top of all that, this company really strives to improve both the students' and the staff's happiness at BIG. The job can be a very difficult job at times, but the admin and supervisors at BIG know that it is demanding, so they really seem to do what they can to help in any way they can. They provide lots of support to give you the tools and training you need to do the job well - not only in the beginning, but all the time. Any time I've asked people for help, I've never been turned down nor felt like I was bothering them. And I think it's that teamwork across the company that makes me look forward to helping not only my students, but my coworkers as well.
Cons
If you don't have patience, this job isn't for you. It can be exhausting at times (not by any means all the time, but occasionally for sure).
