Bespoke Response
5yWith thanks for your review - we feel a response might be helpful for others.
In the short time you were with us managers sought to help you in many ways:
- Giving you an opportunity when you were out of work
- Allocating tasks that matched the skills listed on your CV
- Giving written and verbal guidance when results were not achieved
- Remaining patient whilst you worked to deliver on your goals
As you’re aware, yours was a technical SEO role so results are transparent.
Your managers had to let you go because you were not able to show upward movement on traffic or conversion rates for most of the projects assigned to you. As you know one of your projects was passed to a teammate who achieved a 40% traffic increase within 30 days.
There are no managers who look forward to letting people go. Aside from it being an unpleasant job it increases their workload as they have to hire and train a replacement which can take several weeks.
Despite this when such situations arise they seek to be as kind and flexible as possible. Your managers tried to help you in several ways including:
- Explaining why results you'd delivered meant you hadn’t given an option to continue your employment
- Offering to consider a flexible notice period whilst you found a new role
- Offering to put you in touch with with contacts who might be looking to hire
We were disappointed that you rejected these offers and instead adopted a hostile position. We understood you were frustrated but felt you would have had a much better chance of finding new work quickly had you accepted the support that was offered.
After your employment you sent us an email pledging to post deliberately negative reviews as you have here. Your post here bears no correlation with your time in our team. You told us your frustration was heightened because this was not the first time your employment had ended this way, which we understand.
We’re proud of the patience and clarity our managers show in situations like yours, just as we’re proud of how they handle more typical tasks like rewarding high-performing colleagues, and helping teammates progress.
Similarly we’re grateful for your efforts with us and hope your next role is a success for you.
