Pros

Can't say much, but subsidized food is surely one of them. Work is good (if you HAVE work to do) but work culture is bad.

Crappy HR Policies, Boring Working Environment and Lazy Appraisals/Increments" this is how any sane person would define Billdesk. They might be one of the best in the market and claim to be providing employee-friendly environment, but honestly, if you don't want to be a rat-in-the-trap AND you don't have your family where you work, this organization certainly should never be your choice. For instance, here are some points from the company policies and work culture that I have observed and confirmed from HR at different times, because these are not written anywhere. You come to know about these only after you join the company, and that too from your colleagues as there is no induction system to let you know about these. 1) There is only an email and a desk-phone, and no messenger on your PC to communicate within/across the team. For small discussions, they communicate through whatsapp or other chat apps (seriously). 2) Most of the websites and blogs are blocked on network (including gmail, youtube, cricinfo, spring forum, linkedin, naukri, etc). If you need access, you have to fill forms manually citing reasons for allowing access, and still the access is not guaranteed. Even if it's given, it will take at least a week's time for them to process the request. So, basically neither you can research/explore anything on company network, nor you can have any entertainment. Use your phone. Still, I don't know on what basis, but they claim to be extremely employee-friendly. 3) You can't do anything on your desk, except working on your PC and some light discussions. You're not even allowed to drink tea while working on the desk. You have to go to canteen even for small things like eating an apple. You can drink water, though, thank God !! 4) Saturdays are officially working, but for development team, there is an unwritten exemption for not coming to office on Saturdays. So, there's unofficially a 5-day working system for development team. But, do see the next point for knowing the catch. 5) You are given 15 Paid Leaves and 7 Sick Leaves on paper. But what is not on paper is the concept of sandwich leaves. For example, if you don't come on Saturday, and take a leave on Monday (whatsoever be the reason) be prepared to get a cut of 3 Paid Leaves - Saturday, Sunday, Monday - no matter if you were sick on Monday or you had some urgent work or whatever. Your full weekend will be sandwiched as leaves. Same goes for long weekends, and for National Holidays too. (I myself took a week-long leave in August, but since I was not there in office on 14th as well as 16th, 15th August, the Independence Day was sandwiched and counted as a Paid Leave). 6) If you are sick and you can't come to office, you can do nothing but take a day off (because there's no work-from-home policy in the company) and that will be cut from your Paid Leave, and NOT Sick Leave. If you want to utilize your Sick Leave, you have to take a minimum of 5 days off in a row, and produce a certificate from the doctor about the sickness. In case you take exactly 5 leaves and 2 leaves remain from your 7 Sick Leaves, those 2 leaves would be automatically lapsed, no matter what. 6) Inspite of all these crap policies, most of the people working here are not bothered about these, since 90% of the workforce here is local. They need holidays only because they want some days' break/vacation, and not because they want to go to their hometown to meet their parents/family. Personally, all my leaves got depleted only in visiting my parents and my hometown thrice a year.
