Wish I had turned this job down (Laboratory Technician) - Phd Student Researcher BioScience Laboratories Employee Review

no value for work-life balance, everyone is overworked (50+hrs/wk is not unusual) some employees are openly ableist, homophobic, sexist, and/or racist poor company organization & management After 4+ years of work in academic research labs, I took this job to get non-academic experience. I have never felt so degraded and devalued by an employer or been so personally attacked for any errors in my work. Every day was like walking on eggshells around my supervisor and striving for an unattainable level of perfection. If I did not have prior experience in a lab setting, I would likely not continue pursuing a career in science after working here.
