Employees try to improve the environment and the processes, however, any possible improvements to operations, workflow, etc. are typically shot down by the one or two individuals with power. Management is competitive with their own employees (even when employees try to avoid it) rather than encouraging staff, those in charge want to “own” or “claim” success as their own and don’t want help. No performance metrics. Employees are promoted based on the moods of leadership, and frankly, who stays and keeps management company at night. Expected to work extremely long hours with no notice.
