We work in the construction industry which is not an easy one to work in, especially with the size projects that we complete. It's not an industry that everyone can stomach especially when we are responding to a CAT event and the amount of time required of us. But that's the industry and what we have to do to fulfill the commitments we make to our clients. I don't have any "cons" that wouldn't apply to any other company or job. If you have an issue, you should address it with management. I've never been shut down or not listened to whenever I've reached out to address an area of concern.

You get paid on time.... You get an annual raise of around 1 % (maybe 2.5% if you give them 110%, work 60+ hours a week, and sell them your soul)

You get paid the same whether you put in 45 hours or 120 hours. Everybody that is not on the executive level gets treated like a peasant. Micromanagement is in their blood, and they'll be breathing down your neck. Zero appreciation regardless of how much effort you put in (you're expected to give it your all and more). Don't take a bathroom break more than once, and definitely don't take any PTO unless you're in the emergency room (they'll be talking down on you in the office). Watch out for the office snakes; they'll smile and lie straight to your face and gossip when you walk away. The HIGHEST TURNOVER I have ever seen in a company. For every 100 employees, you'll be lucky to see even 10 of them stick around for a year. Forget about a work/life balance; you'll be lucky to spend the weekend with your family.
