Pros

The Mission offers the possibility of building meaningful, long-term relationships with clients. There is much to learn from the clients' experiences, knowledge, and talents. The opportunity to form relationships with individuals in early recovery is rich and worthwhile.

Cons

Everything at the Mission is determined on an individual basis, creating a dysfunctional environment for clients and staff. Final decisions are made by the ED, a man who is rarely seen by staff and clients with no mental health qualifications. The safety and health of clients and staff is prioritized far below producing a profit, even though the Mission's finances are very strong. Employment practices of staff and clients are exploitative.

It’s good and important work.

Cons

There’s no clear direction for the agency and low level employees aren’t taken seriously.
