Pros

My immediate colleagues were a fun bunch and it was a pleasure to work with them. When left to our own devices, we all collaborated very well on team-oriented projects and tried to ensure success as much as possible.

Cons

The company's dysfunction lies in upper management. My immediate supervisor was a condescending and unprofessional micro-manager, and she would never allow people to do their jobs. Most of the higher-ups are also reluctant to hear new ideas from their employees and fail to implement strategies that could drive the company forward and streamline daily operations (eliminating the high margin of error by promoting the online store instead of using handwritten order forms, cutting paper costs by sending out digital files, etc.). The disorganization results in confused job roles, which creates stress for every employee. Technical support specialists take orders - a duty that should be assigned to sales - while the web technician is required to put sales packets together and occasionally perform secretarial duties. Tasks will fall through the cracks because management will distract employees with things that aren't related to their jobs; in addition, having to have every small thing approved by the Executive Vice President holds up projects and prevents anything from getting finished in a timely manner. As a previous reviewer said, the employees at BrainMaster are consistently unhappy and it's not a mystery as to why the turnover rates are high (in 2014, they lost at least 4 full-time employees). Other problems: long hours, unreasonable vacation/sick day policy, mediocre pay

Pros

The culture at BMT is a very supportive one, you are expected to work hard here but you are given all the tools needed to be successful. The people honestly are really great and like anything the more you put into the job the more you will get out of it. The products the company offers are valued very highly by many in the medical field, and once you understand the ins and outs of the products you will enjoy talking to existing and prospective clients about them. The management team work hard to involve the wider team in the direction of the business, but you must be realistic that ultimately most key decisions will be taken from the top. The business has worked hard in recent years to provide development opportunities for the team at large and I know I’ve been super appreciative of their efforts from a personal and a professional standpoint.

Cons

If you work at BMT then you will be expected to put in the necessary time and effort to familiarize yourself thoroughly with the products. If you don’t have any interest in doing that, then this isn’t a good fit for you. **I want to state clearly for any trolls out there that absolutely no one asked me to write this review. I chose to do it as, like most people at BMT, I feel passionately about the company.
