Pros

This is a studio that really believes in telling meaningful stories with high production values that aren't just entertaining. It makes going to work enjoyable when you know the goal is to make stories that have a lasting positive impact on people. The culture of trust and accountability runs deep in the studio. The leaders go out of the way to hire people whom they believe are trustworthy and really walks the talk by having policies such as flexible work hours and unlimited time off. Leadership also shares a lot about decisions and the business in biweekly and quarterly meetings. The studio, while small, believes in doing things right and a culture of excellence. There is some amazing high quality CG, 2D and VR work being done here and the interest generated in the studio from outside gives it a lot of very promising opportunities. I think it's a studio that has a lot of potential if one is willing and able to invest in it for the long haul. While there isn't a minimum number of work hours a week, most people average 45 hours. This is pretty good for the industry and the level that the studio is at right now. The office is situated in a beautiful place in Dallas, with lots of options for food and affordable accommodations. Cost of living is very reasonable in Dallas and a lot of activities going on in the city. Dallas is also a good place to raise a family with a lot of family friendly activities and communities.

Cons

Working in a smaller studio will really train your grit and resourcefulness. There are many opportunities for growth here, but it requires an individual who is motivated to push for excellence and overcome obstacles smartly. There's a lot of hands-on shot work, even for folks who do strategic planning, so everyone has to pull their weight. Being a relatively new studio, you have to be comfortable that there hasn't yet been many established workflows and pipelines. At the same time, it must really excite you that you get to build and essentially leave your mark on what is a blank canvas, or you might find yourself dissatisfied quickly. Because of the nature of a smaller studio, the change is far more rapid and constant. You must be able to 'Expect the unexpected'. It does take a certain kind of person who is able to quickly context switch in order to consistently hold the long term vision, while navigating through the constantly shifting short-term priorities to get there. It can be frustrating, otherwise.

Pros

People are skilled, fun, and great to work with. Various projects make for interesting work.

Cons

Management/CEO doesn't make you feel like part of the team, just a worker that is replaceable. Long work hours, even without crunch time. Pay is not very competitive and at times was not matching inflation.
