Pros

When the firm is busy, associates generally get good and varied work experiences. Decent amount of pro bono opportunities. Some good partners to work for and learn from.

Cons

The firm cut salaries due to Covid last year and has not made associates whole. Claims to pay market bonuses but does not seem to actually be the case. Very negative and toxic work environment. Many partners are a nightmare to work for, including those with senior roles at the firm. Overall toxic environment from top down. Low morale among many attorneys because of the negativity and financial situation. High turnover in the last year or two. When the firm isn't busy, work can come to a standstill with partners playing favorites as to who gets assignments. Terrible work-life balance when the firm is busy.

Pros

Great environment to work in with a team of genuinely nice and supportive people. Everyone treats each other with respect, and there’s a strong sense of kindness and collaboration throughout the workplace. It makes coming to work enjoyable and creates a positive, welcoming atmosphere.

Cons

It would be nice to get to travel to different offices more.

Pros

Firm is relatively small, and you can get a lot of direct experience that would otherwise be unavailable.

Cons

Management is opaque, and toxicity and favoritism are rampant in NY office. The firm is also prone to surprising associates with unexpected responsibilities, and operates at the mercy of a handful of smart, but mercurial, narcissistic, and abusive, partners.
