Pros

If you consider working with big brands a plus. Allows remote work and a reasonable compensation.

Cons

The company used to hold its values dear. There are sessions called all hands where people were allowed to ask questions. After a slew of redundancies, people stopped asking questions and all hands recordings were edited just to keep the pleasant parts. That says a lot about the shift in culture after the change in management. The current management simply ignores any feedback from the employees. Due to their "less profits" the company decided to "cut costs". They removed several people over the course of few months. With every round of redundancies, they would come and promise about not having more. But redundancies just continued. Even people who were loyal and stayed there for 8 years were not spared. Perks were cut down e.g. We used to have lunches on Wednesdays. It was not a fancy lunch and wouldn't have costed more than 15$ a head. It did motivate a lot of remote workers to socialise with their office based team mates. Not sure what they achieved by cutting down a perk that would've costed them no more than 600$ a week. HR are for most part clueless and have just learned wiki pages written by others. They don't even have empathy for their fellow employees. The biggest reason profit came down for Bulletproof was the callous behaviour of senior people in the company. Over hiring , and over investing in ideas. There was a project that was developed for 3 years and then scrapped abruptly because they couldn't justify the cost. Reason ? Poor management of goals of the project, managers trying to control the architecture and senior developers learning new technologies under the guise of building an innovative product. Those people eventually left the company, leaving it cash dry. If you're on a client project, the architect and project manager just give in to whatever clients have to say. There are no controlled timelines, no cost calculation, no real estimations , no risk analysis, and engineering team takes all the fall for everything despite being called at odd hours by the client directly on the cellphone.

Pros

Salaries are reasonable, some good, dedicated people working at the operational level to keep the ship afloat and the office is nice.

Cons

The influx of global competitors and more agile local competition as well as their market listing in 2014 has not been kind to Bulletproof. As other reviews have suggested the business has become something of a rudderless ship commercially essentially acting a reseller of others repackaged services and without the technical resources or any management desire to invest in shaping it's own place in a crowded market has really become a margin player in the local market. For example published financials show the companies sales almost doubled between FY15 & 16 however their profit halved during the same period, customer renewals are touted as major wins but nobody wants to talk about the discounting required to win the business or the customer complaints or the fact that ALL of the sales growth has been in the SME space rather than enterprise where Bulletproof can't compete. Staff wise the past 12 months has seen a string high profile departures as key sales, technical staff and management have left the business for more stable environments the latest being the CFO who resigned just before Christmas and the way things seem to be headed i don't see Bulletproof surviving beyond the next couple of years.

Pros

Initially great future, amazing structure and learning envrionment

Cons

When i started, my individual team was very motivated, structured and we completed all tasks within a generally standard time frame, all worked well and i was steadily improving my skills and maturity at work. Come the new financial year, the company decided to do a bunch of "Economically benificial restructures" aka redundancies due to the mis-management of senior management. This resulted in multiple people being made redundant or leaving in suit. These people in particular were both loyal and a cornerstone of the Bulletproof brand. These people made the company what it was and kept all the bolts together with new projects and ideas. Around this time, new management was brought in, employees who ironically enough did NOT fit the bulletproof motto. Incorrect staffing choices. Destroying the name of the company. Around this time i had begun to take on more work then i could and in essence i was a scapegoat for alot of issues. I decided to leave as the job was overworked and underappreciated. I have alot of good memories with alot of staff there which i cherish. It's a shame it has come to this.
