In the top 3 worst employers - Bar Supervisor Butcombe Group Employee Review

Employees and locals are unhappy with the brewery and it is all you ever hear about. I used to go to work everyday and feel particularly anxious at the door because the punters would constantly complain about how much they disliked Butcombe for ruining their local. When you wear Butcombe tshirts on your shift you are made to feel shame instead of pride.My work colleagues and my boss would complain about the punters complaining about Butcombe then Butcombe would complain about us underperforming. The managers speak badly about the brewery it is just a constant cycle of pressure and negativity and it is tiring. Bar jobs are usually fun places to work especially in Bristol. My girlfriend works for Butcombe and she said her experience is bad overall because for 5 weeks in a row her wages have been wrong. That is another thing they often underpay you and the Managers will just shrug you off and say 'next week it will be sorted' but you end up chasing it yourself. It took months before I got a staff card with my own name on it. You get told to use someone else's staff card but they get refused so they give you a benefit but it's an imcompleted one. Butcombe have a decent reputation but you are left wondering well how because it is just draining to work for them.
