Pros

Many opportunities to develop skills, gain independence, and be there for people in need.

Cons

Not enough resources to help in many instances, leadership has all the power and control over what happens/doesn't happen, and punishes staff who offer meaningful feedback. Working in this role means working within layers of ineffective systems.

Pros

- Direct Service Staff are some of the kindest people you will ever meet - Client service provision is meaningful and rewarding - Free Treats and Food on Occasion

Cons

- No standardized policies or training for day to day work - no updated or widely disseminated policies and procedures - lack of transparency from Leadership and Board to supervisors and direct service staff - Certain departments operate completely independent of official oversight and abuse their power of employees - leadership actively lies to staff and makes promises they cannot or will not keep - No actual HR department and thus no safe place to come with complaints - unrealistic workload expectations - refusal to enact policies that could benefit staff and clients - lack of follow through, cross site collaboration, and communication - lack of a welcoming work culture as some employees are cliquey
