Pros

The people are fantastic, there is a lot of love and appreciation amongst staff members. Benefits are pretty decent, with lots of time off and work from home flexibility (however some of that was rumored to be taken away soon). Work/life balance overall is amazing and you truly can shut the computer down everyday at 5pm.

Cons

The overall direction and values of the organization need a lot of help. In response to the pandemic, there were some layoffs and a mass-exodus of key staff players. Any remaining staff have felt the consequences. Staff that are vital to organization's success have gone underpaid and unappreciated and felt the pain of being understaffed following the pandemic. Senior staff have a lot of issues amongst each other, with lots of gossip and distrust. That level of toxicity trickles down to all staff and there's an overall level of uneasiness in the company. Following the layoffs and loss of some senior staff members, the volunteer leaders completely overstepped their roles and have started to mislead the organization into a dangerous direction. Instead of seeking guidance of qualified professionals to help get the company back on track, they (as commercial real estate professionals) have decided to do it themselves. I think there is room for the organization to turn itself around, but that will involve major changes to the involvement of volunteer leaders and the removal of some bad-players on staff.

Pros

Employee benefits are decent but not enough to say that is a pro.

Cons

Very poorly run and having its members make decisions and using the company's assets to help themselves and their business is unethical.
