Pros

- Has a "small company feel". The employees are very kind and caring. Everyone gets to know everyone else very well. Everyone is friendly. There are many very creative and exciting personalities. There are very few "dull" or "boring" days. -Employees can feel good about their work, knowing that they make a very high quality product. - Health insurance is reasonable. - Everyone is very approachable. You can walk up to the company CEO at any time and talk to him about anything. Same goes for other members of the company. Although the management usually is in disagreement with any type of "change", at least they will give you their undivided attention and listen which is better than what you get at other companies.

Cons

- Employees are promised a performance evaluations after hire, only later to learn Centroid never performs any type of performance evaluation. This means no raises, and promotion of any kind is incredibly difficult. - Your wage will never increase to compensate for inflation. - The company refuses to spend money when equipment breaks, needs replaced, or becomes obsolete. This creates an environments on inefficiency, and sometimes questionable safety. - You will never be allowed to throw anything away. The company CEO regularly goes through the dumpster and garbage cans, and gets very upset when he finds something he considers "valuable". Instead, broken and unusable items are set on shelf and around desks, sometimes for decades. Often, employees have a hard time moving around due to the excessive amount of junk everywhere. Having to climb (sometimes dangerously) over enormous piles of unused equipment to get at what you need is a daily occurrence. - No retirement plan. - No company picnics, Christmas parties, golf outings, etc. This company is devoid of "the little things". - No sick days. No personal business days. No "floating" holidays. You get a very small amount of paid vacation. Christmas Eve and New Years eve are not considered holidays, and you will be expected to work. - This company does not embrace technology. Employees are required to keep meticulously organized paper notebooks on them at all times as part of your contract. Few aspects of the company are "modernized", and situations involve keeping careful records with pen and paper. This company is far from going paperless. - Parking is a nightmare. - Many employees are promised travel opportunities to see the world. In reality, only a few very important members of the company are allowed to travel.

Pros

Positive atmosphere and great people to work with. Management cares and will help you when you need it. Work flexibility, you’re given high-level tasks and do your best to figure it out how to get to goal. Not micromanaged on day to day. Really collaborative environment and higher ups will offer suggestions if you get stuck. Plenty of interesting projects with clear benefits to support our customers. Assigned a variety of task so that day to day isn’t monotonous. They are flexible about when you take your paid vacation. You can save up and take a whole month off if you want.

Cons

I think Centroid could do better in making everyone feel as one team as some departments really don’t interact or know what other departments are up too. There health insurance policy is not the best. It varies from year to year with the provider they go with, but this year is the worst in terms of benefits. Hopefully next year is better.
