10yThank you for taking the time to post a review. Your feedback is important to us. We want our promotion process to be as transparent as possible and remove perceived favoritism. As a result, we use an approach that evaluates our managers on sales performance AND soft skills. This ensure that our leaders not only have proven performance, but also have the competencies necessary to lead/coach a team. I'd like to explain how promotions are determined....
All of our current General Managers, Regional Managers and VPs get together in a room to discuss each candidate one-by-one to determine who will be promoted. In the time that you've worked for us (the last 5 years), eleven of our current General Managers were promoted into their position with this process. We feel that this process is fair and takes in to account a lot more than just sales performance as soft skills are discussed at length.
As we continue to grow as an organization and open additional showrooms, there will be several General Manager positions that become available over the next few years. Stay focused on personal/professional development and your sales performance and I'm confident that you'll have the opportunity to get promoted!
